I wasn't aware of Gretchen's death until I read it here.
Gretch always was smiling and laughing, so it was natural that I (who had a flare for doing clumsy things) got my sweater sleeve caught on those braces of hers! We had to go to the Nurse to cut us apart.
Gretchen, Karen Munson and I ran the 1/2 mile for track and field, Gretch with her long thin body made it to state. It was a good trio, we pushed each other each day. Gretch kept us posted on facebook what the situation was with her health, news about her travels and her love of the mountains, camping/working in Colorado. Up til the end the entries were filled with faith, grace and love even when she knew the end was near. I can still see her standing with that smile and hear her unique voice.
