I had the pleasure of being Karen's classmate at the U of M College of Forestry. Her enthusiasm, propensity for fun, and caring nature endeared her to the students and teachers. Karen made it to Alaska with her husband and began her career as a forester but it was cut short. I think she may now be a bright shining star in the north sky. She is so missed.

I remember Karen so well because we were in Girl Scouts together and her mother was our leader. She loved the outdoors and was such a naturalist.
