Jean, you also have a wonderful holiday week.  Were you at the reunion?   Would have liked to visit with you, but was Jerry's 30th birthday..

Jan - I'm so glad to hear from you! Wasn't at the reunion as I already had an NYC trip planned - would have loved to catch up with you - next one! I'm connected to Mike on FB so we trade notes every so often - he certainly is as entertaining as ever, and I so enjoy his pictures of your family - hope all is good with you, and that you have a very Merry Christmas - Happy New Year as well!

Char, thanks so much for manning this site. Appreciate all the updates.

I'm glad we got back in touch via Facebook. smiley

We went to the 40th and enjoyed it tremendously. The morning walk was really nice and I wish more people had joined us. We left the dinner too early to have enough fun. As we were leaving all the party was just warming up!

My Mom died last August and we are making a trip to WBL to fulfill her desire scattering her ashes the same place a our Dad. So a family reunion with nieces and nephews I haven't seen for over 20 years. Anyway, if anyone sees a pontoon boat with a blonde Texan, it's me!

Looking forward to 2018!  Travel from Ft. Worth is a little more difficult than anywhere in MN and I hope we can get up there again. :-) I like the legacy idea and would be honored to participate.

Char,

Thanks for this forum to share information about classmates. Appreciate the updates. No matter our age it is hard to lose a parent.

Dear "Class of 1973"

Tom and I recieved your Sympathy card into reguards of my Dad passing. And I see in the forum Char got this message out to you all and done some chatting with Char on Facebook. To my surprise one of our classmates Lori Eckland came to my Dads funeral. What a surprise to see her. Been a very long time. She also shared with me my dear friend Pam Rathburn ( who we all went to school with ) in the hospital with some broken bones due to arthristis and other complications. I also see Ruth response ( its still hurt no matter how old your parents are). She is so right. I have been blessed having my parents a long time. Alot of our friends have lost there parents already. They passed 14 months of each other and were married almost 61 years. Just want to say "Thank you" Char  for putting on a daunting task of trying to pull everyone together. Really, it does warm the heart. This is a great communicator. Wishing you all good things life has to offer. Sincerely, Arlene (Erickson) and Tom Geisthardt

HELLO CLASSMATES-

Todd Larson has notified us that Fred Konrath, a teacher & coach who was special to many of us, passed away last Tues. at his home in Utah. Mr. Konrath led our 1971 & 1976 football teams to the state championships. This was only 1 of 3 undefeated teams in the last 50+ years of WBL. The '71 team had a reunion with their coach last year & heard him speak of his close feelings to that group of young men. Mr. Konrath was named Minnesota Coach of The Year in 1976 & in 2013, he was inducted into the WBL Athletic Hall of Fame. Following his retirement from WBL, he was the Asst. Football Coach @ the U of M from 1980-1983.

A service will be held on Sat. 11/26, 11:00 am @ St. Andrews Lutheran Church, Mahtomedi. Following that will be a "tailgating" event @Jimmy's Event Center for stories, memories & laughter. Pizza & brats will be served. For questions or concerns, contact Coach's son, Ryan @ 651-253-3844.

A remembrance will be sent on behalf of our class & the team members. Of course, if you would prefer to send an individual response, you should feel free to send your own. The address is:                                                               Jill Konrath                                                                                                                                                          2227 Foxtail Ct.                                                                                                                                                White Bear Lake, MN 55110

Let me know if you are interested in any other efforts to be taken.

Char~

One of our classmates has  lot a loved one. Joe Arthaud's sister, Ann Perszyk, who many of us also knew passed  on 11/14 at the age of 58. The service  for Joe's family to celebrate Ann will be on 12/2 @ 6pm at the Chapel of Cerenity Care in WBL, where Ann was a long-time employee. The obituary was in Sunday's Pioneer  Press if you'd like more info. A Bear  Hug will be sent on behalf of our class, but feel  freel to send your condolences  if you'd prefer.

UPDATE: Although I've sent out 3 cards, all with different addresses, they have all been returned. If you have any info that would lead us to Joe, please let me know. Better late than never.

Sorry, guys.

Char~

Kathy (Kate) Delessio is in a very difficult struggle as her father has entered hospice care. Only a year after the loss of Kate's mother & her sister, Linda ('76), you can only imagine the depth of her loss. Please keep Kate & her brother, Mike ('71) within your hearts.

Dan Shearen has suffered the passing of his mother, Jean, only 6 wks. following his father, James. Most of us have lost one or more parent, but so close is a difficult type of sorrow. Dan's wife, Lynn is also our classmate, so we extend our sympathies to her as well.  SERVICES: Memorial at First Lutheran Church, 4000 Linden St., WBL @11:00am. Visitation will be 1 hr. before the service. Internment will be at St. Mary's Cemetary.

I will send a card on behalf of all of us, but you should feel free to send individual thoughts as well.

Several people have commented that they would like a Facebook page for the class. The www.whitebearhigh1973.net site would remain the official source of information. It would be easier to talk back & forth with long ago friends who are on FB. Sometimes their profile gives you all you want to know or you find several friends, & it's pretty fun to see where life has taken them. Some class members are on FB but don't know to join this site.

Because I send out "Bear Hug" cards, I've found several people that were unaware this site was here, but they are on FB. Missing students were found & we now have an address to send notices. Please check the list & contact the people you know & encourage them to join. Do you remember our foreign student, Fuad Bizri? I found him in Iran! Jeesh we should be able to find a classmate who lives a block away!

Let me know what you think.

Sadly, another classmate is also experiencing the passage of a parent:

DAWN (SCHOSSOW) WITTHAUS (Marc) and her family had their father with them for 90 yrs. Dr. Geo. Schossow walked on to his next life on 3/23/17, after being cared for by Dawn, her husband & daughter. Many of us knew Dr. Schossow from his medical practice in WBL during our childhood. He created numerous inventions that strengthened our society & medicine. SERVICES: THURS. 3/30/17 at the WBL VFW from 2-5 with a presentation at 3pm. (Public parking is available across the street, alongside of Hwy. 61, within the Boat Works).
