My memories of Beth are more from before high school than during high school. Beth and I were girl scouts together. She was kind and quiet (maybe just compared to me) back then. We both had Japanese pen pals and sometimes we would get together and compare notes that we had received. When I learned of her tragic death many years back it struck me as such an unfair end to such a sweet girl.
