What is your fondest or funniest memory from the class of 73?

I have had the great pleasure of working on the reunion with a wonderful group of people and would like to thank them for all they have done. I would also like to send a challenge out to all of you listeners. The most difficult part of the work we have done to date has been discovering those who have passed on. Whether they are childhood neighbors and classmates, first loves, church camp buddies, girl scout members  they all occupy a special place  in our hearts. I would like to suggest we do something special in their memory. Being a cancer survivor I clearly believe the future is not ours. We have today, the present. Tomorrow is a crap shoot at best. I am not sure how best to honor those who have gone before us and am looking for suggestions. THe White Bear Lake Education Foundation offers many ways to improve the lives of current students and their families and that may be a good place to start. I thought I would throw this out and see what kind of a reaction I receive as you may other suggestions and ideas as 2 heads are always better then one. It seems a prefect opportunity to do something and maybe it would encourage other groups to do the same. I often wonder why I am here and many dear friends are not.  There must be a reason. With the reunion just around the corner lets see if we could find a way to made a difference. I look forwad to seeing you soon.

Hi friends.  I hope that everyone had a great time at the reunion.  I am going through withdrawal now that it is over.

We intend to changeover the website home page soon with new information concerning the 45th reunion and other items.  We are also hopeful that we will: 1)  find more classmates;  2)  get more people to enter their profiles;  3)  get people to update their profiles; and,  4)  keep a discussion going on the message forum.

I think for our 45th or 50th we may want to explore Marge Pippin"s idea of some sort of legacy from our class, whether it is a one time donation of something needed or a scholarship fund or something else.

The golfers had so much fun at the tournament on Friday that I heard they want to make it an annual event.  I hope there will be more informal gatherings at the 617 as well.

Maybe we could move the annual golfing to the summer months ? I would love to participate in that. And even more so the 617 activities !  I hope more of us can stay in touch.

I would be interested in a legacty or memorials for the classmates that we have lost.

Although, I do not golf......but would like to help somehow.

Hello,

Sorry I missed the class reunion. I didn't find out about it until it was to late. Anyway, glad to hear it went well. I think a scholarship would be a good idea for those classmates that have passed away. Thanks to all that puts this together I can imagine that it is quite a task.

Hi Classmates,

Tom & I never missed a class reunion and we had to help our daughter & husband move to Minot, ND,Tom likes to golf and I am sure he would have had a good time doing that. We are sadden of the classmates that have passed. We were sadden  of Jerry Hammer passing. Remember classmates Patio Pizza in White Bear? That was one of Jerry favorite place to eat and he work there. We would join him there many times and go bowling. He was dating my friend Pam, We would also go hang out at the boom sight  on the Minnesota side of St. Croix. That was the place a bunch of us went for our class picnic. I remember because Jerry was also in wrestling and him and Gary Pigman would carry me above there heads down the stairs off the school gym so they can get  there strength built up for the matches they had. Many fun memories, I am sure you all have many of them. Nice to have a web sight to share with you all. Good job student council trying to get our classmates together. Our class was huge and the task not easy.

Blessing to You All....Classmate Arlene (Erickson) Geisthardt

Hi,

I was not able to attend the reunion, but was hoping to see some pictures posted.

Apparently, as a class, we not capable of uploading photos. Does anyone have a child or grandchild that could do it?

David Ryan

I agree Todd. We weren't  able to attend and have been hoping to see some pictures here or on Facebook, or somewhere!  Usually there are only two reasons for such a lack of photos. Either it was really good, or really bad! We may never know.

Eunice, you’re such a Tech wiz!!  I recall thinking back in high school that you were poised to thrive in the upcoming digital age.  Of course back then that meant you were going to be a manicurist.

Thanks for the photos!!!

And Dave, be sure to make the next reunion. I owe you a few beers for picking me up in your truck while hitch hiking.

Eunice-Thanks for the photos of the golf tournament-you need to tag them, can't tell who all those old people are (not the girls who look the same as H.S., just the guys-haha!). I hope there are photos coming of the party-I will check to see if I have any appropriate ones to send! Renae Roelofs.

Eunice - Thanks for uploading the photos from the golf tourny, but from the looks of it there were only 2 foursomes. All of the pictures seem to be of the same 8 people. It is great to see them but would be nice to see pics of everybody that was there, plus it would then appear to be a better turnout. Next time might want to take a picture of each foursome before they tee off on #1.

Thanks again for all of your hard work to put this together. It was a blast.

Dean,

These were just my pictures and I wanted to get something out there.  I am trying to contact othere that I knew were taking pictures to get those posted as well.  Will continue to work on that.  Thanks!  Eunice

I nominate Dean as Euni's Assistant in Charge of Photography - put him to work, Euni!

Just wanted to take this time to wish the Class of '73 a Merry Christmas and Happy 2014 - happiness, good health and peace to all! (Oh, and one more thing - a winning season for my beloved Cubs - now THAT would be a Christmas miracle!)
